We predominantly have 2 types.
Washingtonia robusta (Mexican fan palm or Mexican washingtonia) is a palm tree native to western Sonora and Baja California Sur in northwestern Mexico. Grows up to 70-100 ft tall!
Phoenix canariensis (Canary Island date palm) is a majestic and girthy palm tree native to the Canary Islands. They grow very slow 12 to 24 Inches per Year and live 50 to 150 years.

Fun facts about Palms
- Over 2500 species of palm trees exist today.
- Some species of palm trees are among the tallest trees in the world. Wax Palm in Colombia can reach heights of 200 ft. (60 m). These trees are as tall as a 25-story building!
- Palm trees provide us with various fruits including coconuts, acai fruit, dates, betel nuts and oil. People even make wine (or Kallu) from palms! It is commonly made in Africa and Asian from coconut palms, Chilean wine palm and date palms. And palm oil is one of the most widely used oils in the world (but sometimes its production displaces rainforests!).
